Our Little Blessing Shadow

So It all started when he wondered in to Steve's backyard on New Years Eve. Since he didn't have tags Steve was going to keep him for the night but he got out the gate as Nicole was leaving. He then ended up at Nicole's Neighbor's house (Shelley) all in the same night. Shelley kept him overnight then gave him to her sister who then decided she couldn't keep him for whatever reason, it could have been her spouse. They were going to take him to the pound but first Shelley wanted to see if Steve wanted him. Long story short...lol.... too late! Back on New years Eve Duane and I wanted to take him home but Steve really liked him so we didn't say to much although it was know that if Steve wouldn't take him we would.... The funny part was that 3 days before New Years eve Duane had said that if we ever got a small dog it would have to be a little collie and sure enough he came right into our lives within 3 days. He is a toy collie he weighs maybe 25 lbs he's about 2 or 3 years old we believe and Shelley had named him Rico ..... we are trying to change it to Shadow because that is what he is my little shadow and if it's not me he is following Bailey who seems to like him. Anyway when we got the call that he was still lost and needed a home we felt it was fate and just had to take him in. He is so sweet like a playful kitty he is very scared of men so we think he was abused by a male figure. But he is adjusting well. It has been an adventure...the day after we saw him and fell in love with him Duane starting looking for a dog on Craig's list, but nothing went through. Just more proof that it was fate and he belongs to our family. Even though on the first night before he even got into the house he ran away and went straight back to Shelley's house....Sad part is Duane walk over a mile trying to catch that dog....lol But once he was in the house he didn't want to leave. He has been my Shadow ever since.
